Mission Statement

NCMS Counseling Department Mission Statement 

The mission of the Nellie N. Coffman Middle School’s counseling department is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program for all students.  Professional school counselors will provide support to all students as they develop the skills to be lifelong learners through a growth mindset so they can achieve to their fullest potential.  The school counseling program will provide equitable access and address the social/emotional, academic, and career development of all students.  In collaboration with the middle school staff, the school counseling department will encourage and help develop the creative talents in all students.  In partnership with parents, other educators, and the community, the school counseling department will facilitate a program that inspires students to increase their skills to think critically, make wise choices, and be productive members of the global society.
